Hotel Zlatý kříž is the only hotel in Trebic, which offers unique views of UNESCO and the 3rd the largest square in the country as of the rooms and the roof covered panoramic terrace panorama - photo point.
Hotel Zlatý kříž located on the bottom side of Charles Square only a few square feet smaller than the Wenceslas Square in Prague and the third largest in the Czech Republic.
Hotel capacity
Hotel offers 77 beds including extra beds in 33 rooms with private bathroom facilities. Some rooms are located on the central square, and from the majority of the rooms it is possible to observe UNESCO sights, Jewish Quarter and Basilica of St. Prokop. These views are particularly romantic in the evening at illumination of the monuments. The rooms are luxuriously large and are characterized by calm. The apartment is equipped with a separated kitchen.
In addition to standard hotel accommodation the hotel includes pension in which there is an apartment containing two separated rooms, bath, shower, two sinks, toilet. Another double, triple and quad rooms may use a dining area with kitchen.
Accommodation at lower prices for groups allows a hostel in double, triple and quadruple rooms.
The hotel has its own facilities intended for both hotel guests and the general public.

History of Town Třebíč
By the establishment of a Benedictine monastery in 1101 rised “Under the castle” (Podklášteří) on the left bank of the River Jihlava. Then there was populated the right bank of the river. This settlement was a small town since 1277. In 1335 Třebíč was granted with the city right. In 1468 the town was completely destroyed by Matthias Corvinus. After 7 years in the ruins of the city the new life woke up including the left bank “Podklášteří” where the Jews built.
History of the hotel
The history of this house dates from the year 1468. According to tradition there used to be a pub where Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus lived. The city plundered by him began recovering from 1475.

History shows that the tenant of noble blood in the house 13 was Franz, Baron of Kranzberk, son of Franc Anthony Kranzberg (also written as Freiherr von Gransberger). It was a member of the family which was newly promoted to the nobility family, his father got a Knight Predicate on January 22, 1779. Franc´s wife Serafina was a daughter of theatre director from Jihlava Joseph Reisinger.
In 1939 the building of the hotel was reconstructed in the functionalist style (designer Ing. arch. Žáček ) and in the years 2000-2004 it was extensively modernized under the supervision of conservationists.
Reconstruction of hotel Golden Cross was provided from own resources of present owner while using bank loans.
